The Diana Pendant, this time in one of my favorite gems to collect: Mahenge Spinel.

The center is a 2.15ct Mahenge Spinel in a rare, beautifully full round shape. I especially love this cut on spinel. It gives the stone such a generous face-up presence and lets that intense Mahenge color take center stage.

I kept the Diana setting antique inspired, with multiple fine prongs surrounding the diamonds. The 1.1ctw of top quality natural diamonds are set in 14k white gold to bring out as much brightness and sparkle as possible. The center Spinel and the rest of the pendant are in rich 14k yellow gold. That mix of metals gives the piece a little more depth while keeping the focus exactly where it should be.

And of course, I gave her an XL push-in enhancer bail. The generous 6 x 9mm inner opening makes this pendant incredibly easy to style. Clip it onto a chunky chain, an antique watch chain, pearls, beads, or a diamond rivière. No need to feed the entire necklace through the bail.
