I personally collect unique chain styles, so I’m always on the hunt for the rare ones. The chains with unusual links, beautiful construction, and enough personality that they don’t need anything else. And after handling and collecting so many vintage chains over the years, I have never come across this knot link style before.

This is a vintage French 18k yellow gold knot chain, finished with the French eagle head hallmark. Each sculptural knot is connected by open oval links, creating this beautiful rhythm around the neck. It feels a little unexpected, a little old world, and very cool.

And this one is solidly constructed. At an incredible 47.45 grams of 18k gold, you immediately feel the quality when you pick it up. The knots are approximately 6mm wide, with enough dimension to really show off all that gorgeous twisted detail.

The gold is that rich, buttery yellow I love in vintage French jewelry. At 17.5 inches, it sits perfectly at the neckline. I would wear it completely alone because this chain has more than enough presence. But of course, I’m already imagining it with a favorite locket or pendant.

A rare link, nearly 50 grams of gold, and that unmistakable French craftsmanship. This is exactly why I’m always hunting for vintage chains.
