This is one of those pieces I had a very hard time putting up for sale.

I kept looking at it and thinking, maybe this one belongs in my own jewelry box.

It is the colors that got me. 44.6ctw of Burmese Spinel in the most beautiful mix of blush pink, raspberry, lavender, violet, wine, and deeper jewel tones. No two stones feel quite the same. Together, they create this incredibly romantic ribbon of color around the neck.

I also love the idea of taking something as coveted and timeless as a tennis necklace and making it completely unexpected.

Each Spinel averages a substantial 0.83ct, so this is not a delicate little line necklace. It has presence. Tiny natural diamonds are tucked between the Spinels for little flashes of light, but the color remains the main event.

The 14k yellow gold makes all those shades feel warmer and richer. And at 31.5 grams, it has that satisfying weight I always associate with truly luxurious jewelry.

Then there is the back. The 2" extender finishes with a dangling Spinel, which might be my favorite detail. Put your hair up and there is this single little jewel falling down the back of your neck. Sexy, subtle, and completely considered.

I would wear it with a black dress, of course. But give me this necklace with a crisp white shirt, slightly undone at the collar, and vintage jeans. That is exactly my kind of jewelry.
